CIAS as an umbrella organization is in charge of selecting the Secretariats that run our three Model United Nations conferences. We have three editions: a high school and a college conference on the Cornell University campus, as well as a high school conference abroad in China.
CMUNC - Cornell Model UN Conference

The Cornell Model United Nations Conference is hosted by CIAS at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and is annually deemed one of the best high-school MUN conferences in the world. With over 800 delegates drawn from multiple continents and 100 Cornell students staffing the conference, CMUNC offers an unparalleled experience for both delegates and staffers to demonstrate their passion for solving notable international issues.
CIAC - Cornell International Affairs Conference
Ithaca, NY
The Cornell International Affairs Conference is a college Model United Conference hosted by CIAS at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and a newly prominent fixture on the collegiate MUN circuit. Although much younger than its sister conference (CMUNC), CIAC draws over 200 delegates from top universities in North America and continues to expand annually.
CMUNC China
Chengdu, China
The Cornell International Affairs Society began expanding internationally in the late 2010s, with the introduction of CMUNC China in April of 2017. This edition of CMUNC, hosted in Chengdu, China, served over 200 students across the Asia region with the same quality as its domestic edition. With the abolition of COVID-19 restrictions throughout Asia, CIAS will evaluate future possibilities for CMUNC China and the organization’s international presence.
